Top 5: Book Cover Colours
TOP 5 BOOK COVER COLOURS
To kick start my Top 5 Friday posts, I thought I'd bring a little colour to it by choosing my top 5 favourite colours for a book cover. I think colour is so important when it comes to covers. Psychologically we are all drawn to different colours which bring out different feelings and emotions in us and I think it's important to choose wisely when it comes to book covers because it can tell a person a lot about what they're picking up. I know, I know, you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but....
Number 5: Yellow
So I've basically gone through my bookshelf and picked the five colours that really stand out to me, and also those that I seem to have a lot of. And in at number five we have Yellow. I think when I see yellow I naturally think happy and upbeat which would be an obvious reason to pick a book based on the colour.
Number 4: Teal
This is one of my favourite colours and I think it's so beautiful on book covers. The only reason it hasn't scored higher in my top five is that I'm not quite sure why I like it so much, it's just pretty 💁
Number 3: Orange
Number 2: Blue
I think blue is such a diverse colour...all shades can mean different things and bring out different emotions in people but I especially love this Royal Blue chosen for the cover of The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell. When I see it, I think it says adventure, courage and mystery!
Number 1: Pink
I won't lie, this is the only pink coloured book I own. But I just love it. When I first saw this book on the shelf I remember almost feeling butterflies in my stomach. It was such a mesmerising colour that I was almost drawn towards it hypnotically. I just knew this book would going to be out of the ordinary and I wasn't wrong.
So these are my top 5 colours for book covers 💜
If you had to pick a favourite...or five, what would they be? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading 😊
